Father Steve Macias is Headmaster and Chairman of the School Board for Canterbury Christian School. He is also Rector (Senior Pastor) at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church.
Originally from Sacramento, Father Macias studied political science at Sacramento City College, where he was also student body president. He studied English literature at Sierra College (Rocklin, CA), organization leadership at Thomas Edison State University (Trenton, NJ), and theology at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA).
Prior to assuming leadership at Canterbury, He helped lead a growing network of local Anglican churches, served on the board for a large multi-ethnic K-8 charter school, and worked as a press secretary for the California State Assembly.
He and his wife are the parents of three children, the oldest of which is a student at Canterbury.
He loves spending time with family and friends, enjoys singing show tunes and following Broadway theater. He makes his own beef jerky, relishes adding new religious entries on Wikipedia, re-reading Flannery O’Connor, and writing handwritten, long-form letters.
