Admissions

Canterbury Christian School welcomes families who desire a serious classical Christian education marked by academic rigor, ordered classrooms, and strong moral formation. Our admissions process is designed to ensure a good fit between the student, the family, and the expectations of the school.

Why Canterbury

Canterbury offers a traditional grammar school education rooted in historic Christianity and the classical tradition. We emphasize mastery of foundational skills, disciplined habits of learning, and the formation of character.

Families choose Canterbury because they are seeking:

  • A calm, orderly, and focused classroom environment
  • Strong instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics
  • A language-rich curriculum that includes Latin
  • Teacher-directed instruction with clear expectations
  • A Christian school grounded in Scripture and historic Christian belief

Our goal is not simply academic success, but the formation of students who are attentive, diligent, respectful, and prepared for future learning and faithful service.

Admissions Process

Admission to Canterbury is selective and based on readiness rather than age alone. The process typically includes the following steps:

  1. Inquiry
Families begin by contacting the school to learn more about Canterbury’s mission, expectations, and program.
  2. Application
A completed application form is required for each student.
  3. Assessment
All applicants participate in an academic or readiness assessment appropriate to their grade level.
  4. Review & Decision
Admissions decisions are made after reviewing the application, assessment results, and overall readiness for the program.

Our admissions team works closely with families throughout the process and is happy to answer questions along the way.

Age Requirements

Because developmental readiness is essential to long-term success, Canterbury maintains firm age requirements.

  • K4 applicants must be four years old on or before October 31 of the school year for which they are applying.
  • K5 (Kindergarten) applicants must be five years old on or before October 31 of the same school year.

These deadlines are firm and help ensure students are prepared to meet the academic and behavioral expectations of the classroom.

Tuition & Fees

Canterbury Christian School is a private, nonprofit Christian school. Tuition supports small class sizes, qualified teachers, and a curriculum that emphasizes excellence and order.

Current tuition rates, fees, and payment options are available upon request or during the admissions process. We encourage families to review tuition information carefully and to contact the school with any financial questions.
