Our Vision and Our Mission

Canterbury Christian School prepares students to confidently respond to Christ’s call on their lives. (Matthew 6:33)

Canterbury Christian School, commissioned by Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20), provides parents with an excellent Classical Christian education for their children. By maintaining a structured environment, built upon Biblical foundations, our dedicated staff supports the spiritual and character growth of each student. Our culture honors our heritage and advances a Godly legacy for the future.

At Canterbury we acknowledge the trust parents place in us when they send their students to be educated here.  Our goal is to support the family in raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  Along with an excellent academic education, we foster core values to develop graduates who can think as Christians, speak as Christians, and act as Christians.

Why Choose Canterbury

We provide a safe and rewarding Christian environment for our students. Our teachers have a true regard for their students, seeking to help them develop as mature Christians.

Our teaching is Bible-based and faithful to Scripture.   We maintain conformity to Scripture in the areas of science, history, and literature, and do not promote humanistic views or values.

We believe children can and should be salt and light to the culture, and promote activities that encourage that.

We train children to ThinkSpeak, and Act like Christians

A Curriculum Faithful to Scripture and Geared Toward Strong Academics

We believe that every area of life and thought must be governed by the Word of God. That is why our entire curriculum is Bible-based and, at the same time, academically rigorous.

We emphasize that before substantive learning can take place, the student must be taught to practice self-control, self-discipline, and self-governance. This lays a foundation for future success in all areas of life.

Our teachers nurture students in all aspects of their development: spiritual, academic, emotional, and physical.

A Tradition of Excellence

Many who have passed through the halls of Canterbury since its inception, comment upon visiting the campus as alumni how many of the traditions and practices are still intact.

The methods employed at CCS are ones that produced a nation of literate individuals, committed to serving God, their family, their church, their community, and their country.

These are the principles we maintain and foster in our students and their families.

Preparing for the Future

The commandments of God are timeless and they do not change.  There is a need to maintain faithfulness in the midst of a rapidly changing culture.  At CCS we instruct students that their primary responsibility is to obey God and all God-ordained authorities, while understanding the importance of knowing God’s Word in order to apply it in their present and the future.

Christianity is not just a “head religion” rather the faithful application of “every” word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matt. 4:4).
