Music & Art

Music Classes

All grades participate in weekly music instruction where they learn the basics of singing and musicality. There are numerous opportunities throughout the school year to perform both in school and at special services at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (our hosting parish).

Vocal Performance

Opera a la Carte is a yearly opportunity for our 4th and 5th grade students to participate in performing a shorter version of a Gilbert and Sullivan production.

Handbells & Chimes

Beginning in the 3rd grade students are challenged to learn how to read music and perform in an ensemble during our weekly chimes and handbell classes. Additionally, there are performance opportunities in school chapel services and periodic Sunday services at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Students normally also participate in a regional handbell choir workshop that brings together various choirs from the area.

Handbells are a rich part of our Anglican heritage. They were developed as a means for change ringers of tower bells to practice their changes in the warmth of their living rooms. Now, they are used to ring tunes and to embellish liturgical music and are a beautiful medium for musical expression in worship. Ringing in a bell choir also teaches musicianship and teamwork for youth and adults alike.

Art Classes

We believe teaching children the basics of drawing, various mediums, and art history is foundational to a complete liberal arts curriculum. All grades participate in a weekly opportunity to learn and develop these skills
