Each week at Canterbury Christian School, our Kindergarten students take on a joyful challenge: memorizing a Bible verse that matches the letter of the alphabet. Using the Abeka Bible Curriculum, they practice all week long, and then—on Friday mornings in Chapel—they share what they’ve learned with the entire school.
This Week’s Verse
✨ “Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.” — Proverbs 20:11
On Friday, our Kindergarteners recited this verse beautifully, reminding us all that even the smallest acts reflect the heart. Their voices filled the chapel with the truth that our daily choices, no matter how small, can shine with kindness and integrity.
Why It Matters
Bible memory in Kindergarten does more than strengthen minds—it shapes hearts. Week by week, these young students are:
- Learning God’s Word by heart and building a foundation for lifelong faith.
- Connecting Scripture to character, seeing how their actions matter to God and to others.
- Sharing boldly in front of their peers, practicing confidence and reverence in worship.
Looking Ahead
From A to Z, our Kindergarten class will journey through Scripture, letter by letter, hiding God’s Word deep in their hearts. As they recite each verse, they not only bless our school community but also remind us that faith can be lived out in even the smallest voices and deeds.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” — Psalm 119:11
